DTC STORE RECORD [PCM (SKYACTIV-G 2.0)]

Purpose

  • When an engine control malfunction is detected, the PCM stores a DTC.

For the DTC store record, the DTC recorded by the PCM can be displayed in chronological order using the Mazda Modular Diagnostic System (M-MDS), and it can be used during malfunction diagnosis when several DTCs are recorded.

Function/display

  • The PCM stores the following information as the DTC storage record.

    • DTC

    • DTC type (CMDTC/pending code)

    • Odometer value

  • The Mazda Modular Diagnostic System (M-MDS) reads out the DTC storage record and indicates it as shown in the figure below.

Difference Between DTC Storage Record and Self-test

Display DTC in recorded order
  • The Mazda Modular Diagnostic System (M-MDS) displays the DTC storage record in chronological order.

Display of previously recorded DTC (CMDTC/pending code)
  • DTCs for the two-drive cycle type are recorded in two steps. (As indicated in figures (1), (2) below)

In addition, if no malfunction is determined in one drive cycle, the PCM clears the pending code in the next drive cycle. (As indicated in figure (3) below)

  • As indicated in figure A below, if a DTC is also currently stored in the PCM, the DTC (CMDTC/pending code) is displayed in the self-test and the DTC storage record.

  • As indicated in figure B below, if only one drive cycle malfunction is detected in the DTC for the two-drive cycle type, the pending code is only displayed in the DTC storage record.
