DETECTION CONDITION

  • C0051:28

    • Steering angle signal malfunction is detected.

  • C0051:54

    • No determination of steering angle neutral position.

      NOTE:

      • Each time the ignition is switched ON, the DSC HU/CM and EPS control module individually calculates the steering angle neutral position based on the signals from each sensor and each module.

      • If the vehicle is driven as follows just after the engine is started, the DSC HU/CM may store DTC C0051:54.

        • Vehicle is accelerated rapidly while being steered left or right.

        • Vehicle is driven on a banked road.

        • Vehicle is steered left and right repeatedly.

      • If the DTC is a past malfunction during DTC inspection, it does not indicate a vehicle malfunction.

  • C0051:64

    • Difference between steering angle calculated by each sensor and steering angle received from EPS control module outside of specified value is detected.

FAIL-SAFE FUNCTION

POSSIBLE CAUSE

  • EPS control module malfunction

  • DSC HU/CM malfunction

VERIFY EPS CONTROL MODULE DTC

Yes

Go to the applicable DTC inspection.

(See DTC TABLE [EPS CONTROL MODULE].)

DTC troubleshooting completed, then go to the next step.

No

Go to the next step.

2

VERIFY DTC TROUBLESHOOTING COMPLETED

Yes

Repeat the inspection from Step1

If the malfunction recurs, replace the DSC HU/CM, then go to the next step.

No

Go to the next step.

3

VERIFY NO DTC IS PRESENT

  • Are any DTCs present?

Yes

Go to the applicable DTC inspection.

(See DTC TABLE [DSC HU/CM].)

No

DTC troubleshooting completed.
